Creative Photography
In May 2022, I took a trip to Italy through TrovaTrip with Vogue-published photographer Rachel Santos, which changed my life. Through with week-long trip, I improved my photography skills while learning from her and many other talented photographers. We started in Rome, traveling up through Tuscany, stopping in Florence, Pisa, continuing on to Rapallo and spending the end of the trip traveling through Cinque Terre. These photos include a mix of close-ups, landscapes, portraits and detail shots. All these photos were using a Nikon D750.
News Photography
During my time at the Chatham News + Record, I was tasked with taking photos during event coverage, which spanned from the re-opening of the CORA Food Pantry, Chatham County Board of Elections meetings, Central Carolina Community College Building Bridges Program open house and many others. All of these photos were taken using an iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Beginning Photography
The first time I started working on my photography skills was during my Foundations of Photo course with Emmy-winning journalist Chad (Stevens) Heartwood. For these some of these photos, we were tasked with a self-portrait assignment. The rest are interesting visuals I saw while taking a walk across campus. During the semester, we learned about composition, light and most importantly how to use manual exposure. All these photos were using a Canon EOS Rebel T3.
